Metabospeed is touted as "Hollywood's little secret pill", but the product has no clinical trials backing it up and moreover contains ingredients which may cause health problems. Metabospeed claims that their thermogenic formulation is designed to increase metabolism and reduce hunger. It's main ingredients are Bitter Orange, Guarana Extract, and Green Tea, but it also contains Ginseng, as well as some items which we don't believe will contribute to weight loss, like White Willow Bark, Bee Pollen, and several other items. Guarana contains caffeine and is used in several diet products and Green Tea also has health and reputed weight loss benefits.
The product is produced by the Lab88 group of companies, which was founded in 2001.
We have heard allegations that Metabospeed has been sued for fake testimonials, as an individual who had never actually used Metabo Speed before was "quoted" on the site.
Side Effects: There have been some concerns raised against bitter orange (and its active ingredient synephrine). One small University of California San Francisco study found that after giving 10 adults Xenadrine, which contains bitter orange, they experienced an 18% heart rate increase and a 7-12% blood pressure increase--similar acute cardiovascular stimulant actions to banned ephedra products, according to the report. One dose of Xenadrine allegedly contains the caffeine equivalent of three cups of coffee. Given these concerns, we'd steer clear of Metabospeed in favor of a more tested weight loss aid.
In fact, on their website the makers of Metabospeed warn "Discontinue use and call a healthcare professional immediately if you experience rapid heartbeat, dizziness, nausea, tremors, nervousness, serious headaches, shortness of breath or other similar symptoms." There may well be other side effects users may experience.
Prices: The Metabospeed retails for $50, but you can get it much cheaper on Amazon for around $38.
