Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill Review

Visit Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill SiteWe believe the Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill is the best balance of function and price, and can make a surprisingly affordable addition to your home gym. Treadmills provide easy indoor walking and running year round without needing to leave your home, and these are some of the best forms of aerobic exercise, very helpful for weight loss and general fitness. Using a treadmill regularly will develop stronger leg and buttock muscles and increase cardiovascular fitness and burn fat. One of our reviewers often uses a treadmill session as a warm-up before proceeding to her main workout.

You can get entry level treadmills from as low as $100, but these are manual versions, and you really need a motorized model with two or more incline levels--the Merit Fitness 715T model delivers the best value for money in our opinion. There are certainly more expensive models (including some over two thousand dollars), but we don't believe you get that much more in practical function.

The Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill is powered by a 1.25 hp motor and has an impressive maximum speed of 10 mph, more than enough for walkers and moderate joggers, though not for high performance runners. The running deck is a perfectly adequate 16 x 45 inches, cushioned to reduce impact on your joints, and inclinable up to 10 degrees, There are four preset programs--manual, intervals, rolling hills, and weight loss. The unit includes a thumb pulse sensor to give you feedback. The treadmill works with a maximum body weight of 250 pounds, and weighs 94 pounds itself. The running machine has a footprint of 29 x 61 x 52 inches and folds for easy storage. The unit's operation is also surprisingly quiet.

Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill ScreenThe Merit Fitness brand is part of Johnson Health Tech, one of the world's largest fitness equipment manufacturers.

Prices: The Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill DVD retails for $499, but you can get it much cheaper on Amazon for around $299. It has a one-year warranty.
